A Bumper Pull Toy Hauler is essentially your travel trailer RV with a rear ramp door opening allowing you to put your motorcycle, 4 wheeler, side by side or pretty much anything else you want to load up for your trip. At Dune Sport they are custom built to order and range from 12 feet and up. Typically the Toy Haulers are built on a 6" or 8" I-Beam Chassis. The front of a toy hauler is used for living quarters - the bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen area - while the rear is designated for the "cargo" area or storage area for your toys. Bumper pull trailers also known as a drag or tagalong trailer have a lot of advantages. The name is slightly misleading because the trailer doesn't actually connect to the tow vehicle's bumper. Instead, the trailer's tongue fits over a ball hitch that juts out from the vehicle's frame at the rear of the vehicle. All of the Bumper Pull Toy Haulers at Dune Sport come standard with a 2 5/16" coupler, meaning you will need a 2 5/16" Ball on your hitch. Bumper pulls are typically smaller and lighter than 5th wheel or gooseneck which means you may not have to buy a pickup truck in order to tow a bumper pull. Depending on the trailer, a motorhome, SUV or CUV may be suitable for hauling one. Bumper pull trailers usually costs less than a 5th wheel or gooseneck. What's a Fifth Wheel?
Fifth Wheel Toy Haulers are constructed with a raised forward section for the master bedroom, allowing a bi-level floor plan. Because of the hitch design, all Fifth Wheels will require a pickup truck for towing. Towing a Fifth Wheel is much easier and much more stable than towing another type of RV. The hitch being placed in the pickup bed and directly over the rear tires of your tow vehicle contributes to improved traction and handling. Dune Sport offers 5th Wheel Toy Haulers starting at 22 feet and go up to the legal limit of 45 ft. Depending on the size 5th Wheel your Toy Hauler will be built on a 6", 8" or 10" I-Beam steel chassis and will either come with 2 or 3 axles. The most obvious benefit of building a custom Fifth Wheel Toy Hauler is simply because people enjoy the increased open feeling inside and the much added space for numerous toys and small off road vehicles.
